Blessings of 2012
I am so thrilled to be a part of leading this exciting institution. For all of us at Le Moyne College, the year 2012 will certainly be one for the record books. In particular, we are proud to welcome our new McDevitt Chair in Religious Philosophy, George V. Coyne, SJ. Father Coyne is a premier Jesuit scientist who brings a remarkable range of talents to share with our students. He will be central to the reinvigoration of the Jesuit mission across our campus.
We have made progress on many construction projects but we are especially proud of our sophisticated and eco-friendly new science facility. Please join us for a Celebration of Science at 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2012. We will unveil this beautiful science complex as we take time to reflect upon the many ways in which it will impact every one of our students.
Our OneLeMoyne Vision continues to be implemented with both joy and pride, as you can read about in the right column of this page.
As you may know, I am proud to serve on the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council, which crafted a five year strategic plan that won top awards in New York State. You can read the plan in full at this website, with details on specific projects to create local jobs, strengthen local industries, rebuild municipal infrastructure, and develop connections between our businesses and global markets. This plan is also a part of our own strategic planning procedures at Le Moyne, as we work with regional partners to develop educational and internship opportunities for our students.
Truly we are blessed in countless ways through our work and our relationships. I anticipate a wonderful year ahead in 2012, and I look forward to meeting with you at events during the months to come.
Sincerely,
Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D.
President
